About the Role:


The pre-construction team require a new, low level Estimator to join their very busy team to support a high level of upcoming tenders. They require someone with some technical knowledge, but are open to exactly what level they come it at. The candidate will be expected to assist in the preparation & prepare accurate cost plans and detailed estimates, identifying true net cost to enable the company to fulfill its business objectives. Their main duties and responsibilities will include receiving, acknowledging and checking tender documentation and raising queries as necessary, attending meetings with the professional or design teams both during and post tender and assisting with evaluating the tender information, preparing the action plan and contributing to Bid Strategy. They will also evaluate and compare quotations, compiling the prices for tender, consider alternatives which may produce financial or programme advantages and clearly scope appropriate subcontractor and material enquiries and issue to agreed list.


About the benefits / rewards:


The salary will be dependant on level of exposure to industry and experience on related projects. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary around £28,000 – £35,000. The package will also include various benefits relating to travel and healthcare.




The ideal candidate will demonstrate previous experience within estimating either as a trainee, or assistant. They should have a good understanding of cost estimating for tenders, pricing of tenders from scratch, programming of tenders and method statements and the production of cost data. They should have good Excel and Word skills. Significant training and development will be provided as part of this role, so above all the preferred candidate will have the want to learn new skills and demonstrate a positive and outgoing personality
