Position:  Town Planner

Salary: Up to £50,000 (Depending on Experience)

About the role:

 

Our client are seeking a commercially minded Town Planner to support the Planning Team within their North London office and will be part of a team responsible for large multi-unit residential development schemes across London and the Home Counties. The main functions of this position will be to provide support in managing applications through the planning process and to assist the land department in the identification of future residential land opportunities within the London area.

 

Skills & Qualifications Required:

 

  • Required to demonstrate a full understanding of the planning system and the procedures involved in the identification and promotion of residential land and in the management of planning applications
  • A clear understanding of planning legislation and national policy, both new and emerging, that will affects the delivery of the supply of land for housing and the detail of residential schemes that are promoted.
  • Need to have knowledge of working through the planning application process to deliver implementable planning consents and enable a start on site.
  • Professionalism and rapport building skills are essential, as the role will involve working with a diverse range of people, including landowners and private sector professionals’ as well local residents.
  • High levels of computer literacy, ability to work under own initiative and being a good team player.
  • Hold a current full driving licence as site visits are regular
  • The ideal candidate may well be working within the planning department of a local authority or other regional or national house builder and will have completed an RTPI accredited degree or equivalent qualification.
