About the role:

You will be reporting to the Technical Director who has been with the company for over 10 years. The key roles are as follows:

  • To take projects from handover from the Land Department through to completion of the development playing an integral liaison role with consultants, internal departments and inspecting authorities.
  • To aid in the discharge of planning conditions supplying information to the Land Department as requested and agreed to a strict timetable.
  • To thoroughly check and value engineer working drawing packages and facilitate the build of all elements of the respective sites with minimal cost impact including Architectural & Engineering and Mechanical & Electrical Packages, whilst Incorporating any renewable energy requirements into the package.
  • To progress services enquiries and collate all information received into a ‘ServicesPack’ for handover to the site management team.
  • To instruct consultants in conjunction with the Senior Technical Manager, both architectural and engineering, and liaise regularly throughout the conception of the working drawing package to fully drive the solution.
  • To conceive the Technical Programme for the working drawing elements for approval by the construction management team, and issue drawings accordingly recording all issues on drawing issue sheets.
  • To cross reference Internal & External Specifications and transfer information to the working drawing package as necessary to facilitate the ease of build.
  • To instruct Soil Investigations and attend to review ground conditions encountered to conceive the engineering solution.
  • To register the respective sites allocated to the Project Manager with Building Control/NHBC and manage the discharge of conditions accordingly prior to CML date where possible.
  • To produce/manage the production of in-house drawing documentation including
  • Demolition Plans, Combined Services Plans and Construction Details.
  • To manage the information required for highways agreements including S38/APC’s
  • & S278’s as well as Thames Water Agreements S104, S106, and requisitions and obtaining Demolition Licenses


The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic and will ideally have at least 4 years’ experience with a high end housebuilder working in a technical capacity. They will have a construction related qualification of HNC in Building Studies or similar, and will have experience of instructing consultants, and taking developments from planning through to completion. They will be reliable, punctual and a good communicator, as well as possessing the commercial acumen and practicality to conceive the best solution for any given problem. They will preferably possess the skills to use AutoCAD and will be very familiar with the production of working drawings, as well as the management of them. They will be able to demonstrate practical experience of working to the most recent amendments to the Building Regulations, and will preferably have been exposed to the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes and managing projects throughout that process

  • Degree Qualification or equivalent


About the benefits and rewards:

The salary offered always depends on the level of experience of the candidate and their exposure to the relevant industry sector. In this instance they are looking to pay up to £55,000.  The benefits package will include the basic salary followed by:
