Site Manager – Residential Developer/Contractor


Role: Site Manager – Developer / Main Contractor

Salary: £55,000 + Bonus and Package

Location: Essex (South & South East)


About the company:

Our client is both a residential developer and general contractor specialising in the provision of private housing, affordable housing, residential care facilities, special needs housing, student accommodation, medical facilities, office, retail and industrial accommodation. Their services cover a wide range of disciplines across most market sectors and include JCT Design & Build financed end delivery. In addition they have a dedicated business team specialising in the procurement of development sites, site assembly, land banking and strategic land procurement for our existing client base, developers and investors in our sector.


About the Role:

  • Taking the lead role in the day to day safe running of all site activities, professionally, to programme and to budget.
  • Ensuring the Company’s high expectations and quality standards are maintained throughout the entire build process.
  • Ensuring the Company’s quality control procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with the project design.
  • Taking ownership of the project and the project team and making sure that the design team, construction and commercial teams are all working efficiently and to programme.
  • Organising and managing all day to day direct labour site staff and subcontractors.
  • Programming in all sub-contractor attendances.
  • Ensuring that daily site health and safety requirements are being met at all times and that all health and safety procedures are rigorously enforced.
  • Preparing, implementing and reviewing method statements/risk assessments to ensure safe working practises are maintained on site at all times.
  • Ensuring that all plant, scaffold and machinery are correctly ticketed and are being operated by trained and certified site staff.
  • Ensuring that the daily site traffic management plan is in place and is being implemented correctly.


Candidate Requirements

  • At least 5 years within a Site Management role
  • Wide experience within the house building industry
  • Industry related business qualification would be highly beneficial
  • Good team management experience.
