Site Manager – Main Contractor

About the Company:

Our client is an established contractor based in North East London. They have the ability to cover multiple sectors of industry which has enabled to company to progress and enjoy success through a tough economic climate. They cover refurbishment, new build, restoration, planned and cyclical maintenance projects with a value range up to £2,500,000 in both the public and private sectors. The business operates predominately within the M25 and London area and holds an impressive portfolio of projects along with a loyal, friendly and professional working environment.

About the Role:

Due to the growing workload a Site Manager is required. This role will be directly reporting to the Contracts Manager and the candidate will be capable of running a project as number one on site. This role will provide the individual to benefit from day to day hands-on guidance and support balanced with a comfortable level of autonomy to enable the individual to develop professionally to a more senior level within a year or two. You will take on responsibility for numerous projects and work closely with the project teams throughout construction. You will be responsible for build &  refurbishment up to the value of £5m within the private, commercial and local authority sectors.

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Attending and leading site meetings with clients & senior staff
  • Liaise and remain clients facing
  • Read and work from specifications and drawings
  • Ensure all Health and Safety standards are adhered to
  • Order materials in a timely fashion
  • Programme and ensure all works are on schedule
  • Oversee the direct labour force
  • Oversee and managing subcontractors

About the Benefits/Rewards:

The base package is circa £45,000 – £55,000. The company’s main ambition is to bring an individual into the organisation with the ability to grow and become a valued member of the team.


The ideal candidate will be experienced in build & refurbishment projects up to £5m ideally with some local authority, residential and commercial experience as well as a good knowledge of finishes. The ideal individual will be highly motivated, idea-driven and capable of exceeding expectations. Lateral thinking and highly developed problem-solving abilities should be coupled with a strong trade background.
