Site Manager – High end residential build & refurbishment

About the Company:

Our client is a small, friendly and growing construction company based in the South West London area with ongoing client growth across London and surrounding counties. Our client’s services range from new build, refurbishment and large extensions. The company have recently been successfully involved in the refurbishment of a 1700m2 roof space based in South East London and a 5 bedroom home in Buckinghamshire.

 

About the Role:

Our client requires a Site Manager who will be site based with overall responsibility for maintaining quality standards.  You will be overseeing the health and safety, quality, environmental and commercial viability construction projects, along with the associated administrative duties, as well as client and stakeholder liaison. You will be responsible for the organisation of labour, plant, transport and equipment on site ensuring that operations are carried out in a safe manner.

 

Key Tasks:

  • Direct the Labour Force in the construction of the works.
  • Ensure that construction personnel on site co-operate with managers and others.
  • Overview, direct and arrange any necessary ordering, receipt, storage and issuing of materials and equipment as directed by the General Foreman/Site Agent.
  • Maintain records of daily site activities.
  • Carry out effective Toolbox Talks, Daily Task Briefings and Point of Work Risk Assessments to ensure teams are aware of the work requirements and associated risks.
  • Monitor the allocation of labour to ensure that the tasks they carry out are within their level of skill and experience.
  • Ensure that labour handle materials and items so as to prevent damage, deterioration or loss and that they utilise the correct tools and equipment at all times.
  • Ensure all employees wear the defined PPE at all times when on site.
  • Undertake any key H&S duty’s.
  • Meet and update with clients and stakeholders on a weekly basis.
  • Commercial awareness and ensuring the best possible profitability.

 

About the benefits / rewards:

You will be well rewarded for your hard work with a remuneration package that will correspond to the individuals experience and skills. The salary will be dependent on level of exposure to industry. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary of between £40,000 – £50,000.

 

Requirements:

You will preferably come from a carpentry trade background and will have progressed into management. Candidates should be able to demonstrate successful project delivery with the ability to work without support or supervision and a mature attitude to work.  You will have experience with a main contractor and have aspirations of progressing your career though to Site and Project Management.
