Site Manager

The Client:

Our client is a main building contractor who undertakes new build, refurbishment and design and build contracts priding itself on its client focus. They have an excellent reputation, in part, through the innovative hands-on approach of the company’s directors.  In addition to this they continually invest in people development to ensure they have the best staff. They undertake work for a wide range of public sector and commercial clients.  Recent projects include a residential extension and basement in North London (£2.5m), 3 x new build townhouses in Hertfordshire and multiple schools refurbishments throughout north London suburbs.


The Role

Our client has an immediate Site Management role. The Site Manager will be required to by fully autonomous, leading site as no 1 reporting into a Contracts Manager. Duties will include but not be limited to:


  • Direct Trades & Sub contractors
  • Oversee site Health & Safety
  • Oversee daily site administration
  • Make management decisions pertaining to project issues with minimal supervision throughout the project
  • Demonstration of strong Commercial awareness
  • Short terms planning of construction
  • Client liaison as required
  • Awareness of budgets and schedules
  • Manage day to day operational duties.
  • On-going efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports and troubleshoot problem areas



Beyond the initial project you will be responsible for new build and refurbishment projects between £1m and £5m within the private, commercial and local authority sectors.


Salary/ Benefits

Salary will be in the region of £40,000 – £55,000. In addition to this you will receive a generous benefits package including Car Allowance, Pension, Healthcare. Suitable candidates will have a background in Site Management, or alternatively be in the early stages of their career in site management and seeking an opportunity to receive training and guidance to benefit a more structures approach to their career. You will be experienced in management of new build and refurbishment projects in excess of £1million up to £2.5million ideally with some local authority, residential and commercial experience as well as a good knowledge of finishes. The ideal individual will be highly motivated, idea-driven and capable of exceeding expectations. Lateral thinking and highly developed problem-solving abilities should be coupled with a very strong academic or a trade background with a track record of managing projects.
