My client are a multi-disciplined tier one main contractor who are currently turning over £280M. They specialise within a number of sectors such multi utility’s, water, civil engineering infrastructure, rail and renewables. The company are soon set to celebrate their 60 anniversary as a company, they currently have offices in Dorset, Kent, West London, Hertfordshire, Leeds, Liverpool, Sunderland and Livingston.

About the role

The Company has rebuilt their Commercial Team and there is now an opening for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the Managing quantity surveyor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs across multiple projects, ensuring each is profitable for the Company. You will be involved with the reviewing, evaluation and delivery of payments as well as developing client relationships. The projects that you will be involved in will be working on NEC contracts on underground cabling. The project valuations will range from £300,000 up to £15M.

You will undertake general surveying of projects as required, which will include reviewing and pricing variations and preparing valuations for the respective Project Manager and Commercial Manager.

The role is a permanent position. No freelancers will be considered.

About the requirements:

You are required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC or equivalent qualification) in either Construction, Civils, Commercial management or Quantity Surveying.

To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as a Senior quantity Surveyor within Civil Engineering for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 company. Your work history should be stable; ideally you should have worked at your previous companies for a number of years.

A UK driving license is mandatory for this role.
