The company that I am recruiting for are an ambitious, award-winning business, delivering sustainable solutions for the design, building and maintenance of the UK’s transport infrastructure. They were first established in 1925, when they first started out as a company all they did was produce bitumen emulsions for roads. Since then they have become a worldwide company Since 1995 who specilaise within various highway maintenance and civil engineering market sectors and currently manage and operate its business from various locations throughout the UK. Over twenty strategically located depots, quarries, contracting and production establishments allow the company to gain maximum coverage for its extensive range of activities.

About the role

This a great opportunity for a Planner or a Senior Planner that is looking to develop technically and professionally whilst working on projects that will challenge them and motivate them. The successful candidate will be working on Highways maintenance, infrastructure, airport, environmental schemes and civil engineering projects throughout the midlands. The projects will vary in valuation from £15M up to £35M.

The company are looking for a project planner to help support the project manager with all aspects of planning and programming for highways and airports projects. It’s important whilst overseeing all aspects of the planning for the projects to also add value to the project whilst promoting the best value design solutions. The successful candidate will need to contribute to the ‘Bid Team’ delivering programme advice, value engineering options, operation delivery solutions, preliminary input and bid document information.

Relevant experience in the successful scheduling of engineering projects.

Experience of using a number of project management scheduling tools & techniques.

You’ll need to have a stable career working for tier 1, main contract companies within highways and heavy civil engineering.
