About the position:
The SHEQ Advisor reports to the SHEQ Manager. To aid in the implementation of a positive SHEQ culture which promotes the involvement of all employees in the progressive development of the company SHEQ management system. He or she is the focal point for the production and development for project SHEQ management systems.
A driving license is not necessary but the role requires travel. Most work is currently within Greater London; however, projects are occasionally undertaken in other parts of the country. Currently the main office base is Watford, however that may change to central London.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Aid the Asbestos Manager with the Asbestos Management System documentation, attend specific training as required

• Aid in carrying out audits as set out in the audit program, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures– if not already trained attend IA training and also, Aid in completing tender PQQ and aid in developing the policies and documentation which comprise the company’s IMS

• Aid the SHEQ Manager in the production, control and review of all SHEQ policies, procedures, manuals and employee booklets which comprise the company SHEQ management systems

• Aid with third party external auditing i.e. UKAS certificate, Achilles Information Services etc. Aid in the arrangements to ensure involvement in the management of SHEQ Integrated Management System providing a high level of advice and assistance to the business and employees

• Assist in arranging safety alerts and low-level training after incidents. Attended upskilling training as necessary and Compile reports for incidents that warrant SHEQ intervention i.e. Incident Reporting for more serious incidents

• Ensuring all accidents or loss potential incidents are investigated and reported within, and where necessary outside of the organisation and Ensuring information on SHEQ issues is available and freely communicated to all business locations and employees

• Ensuring there are adequate discussion channels between management and employees, and that these are freely communicated throughout the organisation

•Get to understand the IMS and how to use it. Have a knowledge of enabling works such a reducing digging, high rise buildings, civil engineering, RC frame sub-structures.

• Keep up-to-date with H&S and Environmental legislation and any Quality standards applicable to Company works and also having knowledge of projects ranged from commercial office blocks, to residential and industrial premises.

• Producing reports as required on SHEQ matters, visit all sites, at weekly/fortnightly and produce a report as required generally fortnightly for each site. With guidance from the SHEQ Manager implementing the aims of SHEQ training plans by carrying out the training (a training qualification will be required, if not already held, attendance to gain a qualification will be required)

About the requirements:
Minimum qualification is NEBOSH Construction and if possible NEBOSH General Certificate as well.
Membership of IOSH is not an immediate requirement but progression will be aided.
Knowledge of how ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 work and what they are for.
A good standard of English is necessary for report writing.
A good level of computer literacy is necessary
About the Package / Benefits:

For this permanent position, the salary has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend on previous experience and suitability however successful individuals could expect to target a basic salary anywhere from £42,000 and £55,000

Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company.
