About the company:

Our client, who is based just outside of London, has been established for over 25 years and is a leading remediation and brownfield contractor in the UK. Their expertise is the treatment of contaminated soil and groundwater using a variation of chemical and biological processes; however they also offer other a full package including demolition and site re-grading. Our client has worked on various sites including petro-chem refineries, military sites, landfills and petrol stations to name just a few, with project ranging from £50K – £10M.

About the position:

Based upon current and anticipated workload, my client is recruiting permanently for a Project Manager to oversee remediation projects throughout the South East. As a Project Manager will join the company’s existing management team, coordinating activities with the foreman and client. You will be responsible for managing the technical, operational and commercial aspects of all remediation projects, ensuring they are managed within time and budget. As a Project Manager, you will have a clear understanding of the value of the contact and its duration and you will have a clear understanding of the client and project expectations and requirements.

Your roles will include, but will not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

·Produce contract programmes of works from contact /construction information.

·Ensure on time delivery within budget forecasted costs.

· Ensure all works carried out comply with current H&S and environmental legislation.

·Ensure objectives are set and performance is measured through appraisals and regular reviews.

·Prepare and deliver progress reports for external client meetings.

·Prepare monthly internal performance review reports for Directors taking full responsibility for all operational and commercial elements of the particular contract.

·Ensure all client expectations are either met or exceeded.

·Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with the client.

·Manage productivity of the contact / site team.

·Take ownership of the Bid Proposal, strategy and complaints in order to meet project forecast deliverables and obligations.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity, candidates should have a degree / HNC or equivalent in a construction related discipline (geology, civil engineering or similar). Given this is a senior position, my client is targeting individuals with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within the remediation or earthworks sector and this must have been gained whilst working for a contractor in the UK.

Please note: As this is a permanent position, it is vital that candidates can demonstrate stability of employment throughout their career.

About the salary / rewards:

For this position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere between £45,000 – £55,000 per annum, however specific remuneration will depend on experience and suitability.  There will be a generous package offered (company car / car allowance) in addition to other benefits associated with a large successful company.
