Site Manager – Remediation of Contaminated Land

About the company:

Based in the Midlands, our privately owned client who has been established for over 15 years is a primary name in the design and implementation of ground/water remediation solutions for land regeneration. Due to their expertise, they have the ability to act as a main contractor and as a subcontractor where they are subcontracted by various blue chip companies and major housing developers to perform remediation services on their behalf.

About the role:

Due to on-going growth and expansion, our client is recruiting for a strong Remediation Site Manager to join the management team on a permanent basis and be involved on exciting brownfield developments and remediation projects throughout the UK. As a site manager, you will report to the contracts manager and will be responsible for leading the successful contract delivery on behalf of the company by ensuring that the site team is fully apprised of the contract parameters and have the capability and resources necessary to achieve contract objectives. You will be required to develop positive relationships with all parties associated with the contract and to ensure that the site activities are carried out in accordance and time with the programme whilst also making sure standards are maintained, including health & safety.

The key tasks of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up the site
  • The day to day management of all site processes, including maintaining accurate contemporary records.
  • Supervision of the workforce
  • Ordering materials and small items of plant
  • Carry out site inductions for all site personnel and visitors.
  • Carry out daily white board briefings
  • Communicate work package plans, task briefings, tool box talks and safety alerts to the workforce
  • Carry out routine checks and record information in accordance with company procedures

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this exciting opportunity, it is essential that individuals have a minimum of 5 years relevant site management experience within the remediation sector and this must have been gained whilst working for a contractor in the UK. Additionally, individuals should be educated to degree level in a ground engineering discipline and must have technical understanding of contaminated land, civil engineering, remediation technologies and the CL:AIRE definition of waste.

As this is a permanent position, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate stability of employment throughout their career, holding each appointment for a minimum of 3 years.

About the Salary:

For this permanent position we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £40,000 to £50,000 per annum, however specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer which will include a fully expensed vehicle in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company.
