Salary – £35,000 – £55,000 + package (dependent upon experience)

About the company:

Based in South London, our client is a UK leading name within the demolition and civil engineering sector and has an annual group turnover in excess of £100M. As a business, they specialise in various sectors including rail, environmental services, demolition, and remediation and decommissioning and undertake high profile, technical projects throughout the country with a large presence in / around London.

About the position:

Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is need for a degree qualified Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial Director in the successful commercial and financial management of projects and tenders. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. You will be involved from tender stage through to project completion and projects will cover a diverse range of enabling works and remediation schemes, throughout London and the surrounding areas, working under various forms of contract.

Key responsibilities will include assisting with the setting up of sub-contract packages, carrying out comparison of tenders, placing contract orders and meeting sub – contractors on site. Furthermore, the successful individual will manage sub – contractor accounts after works commence; (viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary) and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and the preparation of valuations in conjunction with Project Managers and the Commercial Director.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates will need to be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience and this must have been gained whilst working within the civil engineering, groundworks or enabling works sectors.

About the package / benefits:

For this permanent position, the salary has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend on previous experience and suitability however successful individuals could expect to target a basic salary anywhere from £35,000 – £55,000.

Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company.
