Quantity Surveyor – Refurbishment

About the Company:

Our clients are a specialist contractor delivering refurbishment, fit out, M&E, facilities and maintenance direct to client, and have built up a reputation based on quality that’s has seen their business grow within the air and landside airport environments at Heathrow and Gatwick. Projects range from airline lounges for Emirates, Air Canada and Cathay Pacific and shop fit ours for Lacoste and ongoing maintenance for other airport operators. They have the ability to manage projects from inception to completion through design and build. About the Role:               

We are currently looking for a strong Quantity Surveyor to integrate with and complement the current senior management team. You will be managing 2-3 projects within an airport environment from both the companies Heathrow and Gatwick offices. The candidate will be expected to be able to diversify across fit out/refurbishment and maintenance projects to the value of £5m. You will be expected to take projects commercially from inception through to final accounts. Duties will include but not be limited to:


  • To carry out and agree with clients QS monthly Valuations, sufficiently detailed to enable proper and sufficient payment and agreement of subsequent  valuations with the clients QS
  • To carry out cost/value reconciliation and submit to the Commercial Manager on a monthly basis.
  • To measure from drawings or site, the quantities of work carried out by the company to SMM Standard and where required value in accordance with the contract rates.
  • Attend site meetings as necessary on behalf of the company.
  • To measure and value any subcontractors engaged by their company and carry out cost/value appraisals.
  • Submission and negotiation of the Final Account
  • Drafting contractual letters and Notices as required under the contract.
  • To carry out the commercial duties expected by a person engaged under the position of Commercial Director

The ideal candidate will have strong surveying contact background with a permanent work structure. Candidates will be either making have at least 3 + years’ experience in Quantity Surveyor role working with in either a fit out, maintenance or facilities background. Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying are essential. Most importantly the candidate for this role must be trustworthy, reliable, conscientious and keen to progress their career further.
