Salary:  £55,000 – £65,000 + Health, Pension & Bonus

About the Role:

 

My client are currently looking for time served Quantity Surveyor for their fit out and light refurbishment division for immediate placement on a £2m fast track commercial fit out project in Central London, with following projects in and around the London area covering various industry sectors, with focus on high end commercial fit out.  This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-established, up and coming main contractor on high spec projects industry leaders providing fantastic career opportunities. This role would suit somebody with the desire to achieve results by hard work and who wish to participate in the future of one of the most progressive organizations. The working environment is very friendly and enjoyable to be a part of which is reflected in the remarkably low staff turnover.   Your role will include but not be limited to:

 

  • price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project
  • prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
  • track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly
  • procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project
  • measure and value the work done on site
  • pay subcontractors
  • liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers
  • select and/or source construction materials
  • write reports

Requirements:

Experience of working on similar projects for a solid period is essential. Candidates will already have Surveying experience with a leading main contractor on fit out & refurbishment projects.  Most importantly the candidate for this role must be trustworthy, reliable, conscientious and keen to progress their career further. You will also have to be a highly motivated individual and a strong team player.  A consistent employment record is essential with at least two years at each employer.
