Our client has been established for 80 years and provides a broad range of consulting, design, engineering, management and construction services. They have extensive knowledge in providing solutions to complex and challenging facility projects for industrial, commercial and public buildings. The company is established across a broad range of sectors including:

The company offices are based in London and the North West, with further offices based in the USA.

This company has very prominent exposure within the Pharmaceutical, University and project Laboratory sector with very close relationships with most of the major players in this market sector.

Well established and dynamic, the company are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work closely with the Project Management team, who can provide cost management and post-construction surveying expertise on multiple fit out and build projects located across the home counties.

The company currently employs approximately 50 staff in the UK across their Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Design Engineering teams. They have a busy pipeline of projects secured which includes laboratory fit outs and greenfield new builds and they are keen to appoint a Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis who is able to manage all estimating, quantity surveying and subcontract procurement functions, subcontractors and client valuations, and happy to work in the office and on client site.

About the Role:

Our client is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor who will be involved with all pre and post construction cost management for multiple projects located across the home-counties. Responsibilities within this position will include preparation of Change Orders, Job Condition Statements, Subcontract account management, procurement and preparation of final accounts. You will be based both in the office and on site, liaising with site teams and managing contract administration.

Working closely with the Project Management team and wider Quantity Surveying team, you will work closely with the Projects Director in a client facing capacity. Given the variety of projects and sectors covered, you will have exposure to a number of forms of contract, including JCT, NEC3 and iChemE.


About the benefits and rewards:

The salary will be dependent on level of exposure to industry. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary in the region of £40,000 – £45,000. In addition to the basic salary there will be benefits including car allowance, pension, health and travel allowance. The biggest reward from this position will be the potential to progress within the business and consequently package details will increase with responsibility.




Candidates will have prior experience of working in a Quantity Surveying position with a main contractor, with general contractor experience. An understanding of M&E will prove advantageous as will experience of subcontract management and preparation of final, post construction.

Candidates should be a Team Player, able to interface effectively with clients and colleagues alike. You will have excellent written skills and be an excellent and clear communicator. A priority is the ability to work under pressure and keep a sense of priority. This role will involve extensive client interaction and would ideally suit candidates from a contracting background.
