About the position:

Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is need for a Quantity Surveyor to support the Managing Surveyor in the successful commercial and financial management of projects and tenders, working closely with site teams to ensure objectives and margins are met. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. Key responsibilities will include assisting with the setting up of sub-contract packages, carrying out comparison of tenders, placing contract orders and meeting sub – contractors on site. Furthermore, the successful individual will manage sub – contractor accounts after works commence; (viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary) and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and the preparation of valuations in conjunction with Project Managers and the Commercial Director.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates will need to be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of 7 years post graduate experience which must have been gained whilst working for a civil engineering or groundwork’s contractor/subcontractor in the UK. Additionally, it is vital that candidates have strong working knowledge of NEC3 and JCT Conditions of Contract.

About the package / benefits:

For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £45,000 to £55,000 per annum, however there may be flexibility on this as specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company.
