About the Role:

Our client are seeking a well experienced, capable and driven Quantity Surveyor to join the new build construction division for a high profile, cost driven project in High Barnet. The project itself is a new build children’s hospice, with a low contract value that has been squeezed down from £7m to £5m to help the charitable organisation behind the project, supported by the self-nominated supply chain and lots of media attention. The contract is a traditional JCT without quantities, with a completion planned for early 2019. The building is of an excellent design, breaking away from what you would believe is the norm for a Children hospice, with 360 views and wooden facades.

With the high profile nature of the cost of the project, my client are building a strong, dedicated commercial team to help manage the cost in all areas, working alongside the client and supply chain to keep the price as low as possible. This exciting role should keep a well capable QS very busy.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be a well experienced, degree qualified QS with 5 years or more experience in a project QS role with a well-established main contractor. They will have experience of managing projects to a similar value, and be proven in working to tight cost schedules on high profile projects. This job will offer an opportunity for progression into a Senior role once this job finished in 2019

You will be well rewarded for your hard work with a remuneration package that will correspond to the individuals experience and skills. The guideline basic salary is £60,000 – £75,000, however this will be dependent upon the specific skills and experience of each individual. Employees will be promoted through the company at a rate that is comfortable for their abilities rather than within a set company structure. This encourages the strengths and successes of the company and each individual.
