About the company

Our client is a privately owned, award winning remediation contractor who has over 20 years proven experience in providing specialist advice and undertaking quality site investigations and remediation projects.  Operating across the UK with their office based in Surrey, this client provides services including remediation, site investigation and risk assessment to various petrochemical companies, retailers, government departments, and land and property owners.

About the role:

Due to company expansion and healthy order books, my client is currently recruiting permanently for a Project Manager to manage a site in Hampshire. This will involve managing a large site remediation contract that involves 100,000m3 earthworks, ex-situ bioremediation, screening, and asbestos in soils.

This role would suit a Project Manager or a Remediation Engineer with 5+ years’ contracting experience and this is a great opportunity to join a growing company who hold lots of ambition within the industry.

As a Project Manager, you will report to the Technical Manager and this opportunity will involve working on this flagship contract exclusively for 1 year. Ideally, you will have experience of working for a contractor or consultancy but all individuals will be considered.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Management and promotion of health, safety, environmental and quality across all aspects of the business
  • Planning, delivery and reporting of reclamation, enabling works and remediation projects
  • Client and consultant liaison (this role will have a significant Client facing facet to it)
  • Management and development of project team staff in the team
  • Liaison with statutory authorities and other stakeholders
  • Financial management and reporting of the project
  • Subcontractor selection and management
  • Business development and input into tenders

About the requirements:

In order to be considered, you will have a minimum of five years’ experience including good quality contracting experience. If you are a consultant and interested in the role you will be expected to have significant experience of management of subcontractor’s onsite, production of project specification and Stakeholder liaison.

A relevant science or engineering qualification and a background in civil engineer and / or contaminated land are essential.

You will be commercially aware and experienced at providing cost effective solutions in a highly competitive market.

Analytical and technical writing skills are important but above all else a flexible and collaborative attitude to solving problems is critical to this role.

You will also be experienced in managing projects with high standards of health and safety.

About the benefits and rewards:

For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £40,000 to £55,000 per annum, however there may be flexibility on this and specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer (a fully expensed company van) in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company.
