About the company:

Our client, who is based just outside of London, is an award winning geotechnical contractor that has over 15 years’ experience in joining industry leading technology and equipment for the design and creation of piled foundations and entrenched retaining walls. As a company, they are part of a larger group who turnover in excess of £200M, with projects undertaken throughout London and the Home Counties and their piling services include rotary piling, cased CFA, piled walls and CFA piling to name just a few.

About the position:

Based upon current and anticipated workload, our client is recruiting permanently for a Piling Project Manager. As a Project Manager will join the company’s existing management team, reporting directly to contracts manager/operations manager and will be responsible for managing the technical, operational and commercial aspects of all piling projects, ensuring they are managed within time and budget. As a piling project manager, you will have a clear understanding of the value of the contact and its duration and you will have a clear understanding of the client and project expectations and requirements.

Your roles will include, but will not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Produce contract programmes of works from contact /construction information.
  • Ensure on time delivery within budget forecasted costs.
  • Ensure all works carried out comply with current H&S and environmental legislation.
  • Ensure objectives are set and performance is measured through appraisals and regular reviews.
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports for external client meetings.
  • Prepare monthly internal performance review reports for Directors taking full responsibility for all operational and commercial elements of the particular contract.
  • Ensure all client expectations are either met or exceeded.
  • Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with the client.
  • Manage productivity of the contact / site team.
  • Take ownership of the Bid Proposal, strategy and complaints in order to meet project forecast deliverables and obligations.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity, candidates should have a degree / HNC or equivalent in a construction related discipline (geology, construction management or civil engineering). Furthermore, individuals must have a proven track record in the delivery of foundation projects in a city environment and should have extensive knowledge of geotechnical construction techniques. Given this is a senior position, my client is targeting individuals with a minimum of 10 years’ experience within piling and this must have been gained in the UK.

Please note: As this is a permanent position, it is vital that candidates can demonstrate stability of employment throughout their career, holding each appointment for a minimum of 3 years.

About the salary / rewards:

For this position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere between £50,000 – £65,000 per annum, however specific remuneration will depend on experience and suitability.There will be a generous package offered (company car / car allowance) in addition to other benefits associated with a large successful company.
