About the company

Our client is a tier one main contractor who is currently operating with a turnover of £850M. They have offices all over the UK but their head office is based in Hertfordshire and they have smaller offices spread throughout the country in Surrey, North London, East Midlands and West Yorkshire. Our client is a specialist within multi utility works, working on projects that involve, water, gas, electric and telecoms.

About the role

Due to the company continuing to expand they’re looking for an operations manager to join their team in London and they will be accountable for the delivery of all Developer Services work within (water & waste). The responsibilities will be include being in charge of both major projects and routine connection works, ensuring compliance with the companies procedures to deliver world class health, safety, environment & wellbeing performance. You will be involved in providing leading customer service & satisfaction, delivering operational objectives to support the client in meeting their Performance Commitments & achieving high levels of compliance with Water UK performance metric targets. The successful candidate will be in charge of supporting the maximisation of cash collection & margin for the company whilst maintaining an excellent relationship with the client through collaboration.

About the requirements

  • Degree in engineering, commercial or management discipline
  • Institute of Leadership & Management Level 5 or equivalent
  • Formal project management qualification
  • NEBOSH National Certificate (General or Construction)

It’s vital that the successful candidate has a strong background within utilities, preferably water and repair and maintenance works. You’ll need at least 8 years’ experience working within the water industry and at least 4 years working within an operational role.
