About the Company:

Our client has been established for over 25 years and is a well-known contractor based in the Midlands who specialise in traditional demolition, land remediation, strip out and asbestos and dismantling. Throughout their extensive history, our client has been responsible for carrying out works on various landmark buildings throughout the UK with a commitment to safety and quality and their services. Current packages range in value from £500K – £10M and with plans in place for growth over the next 5-10 years, this business is in an exciting place moving forward.

About the Position:

Due to on-going company expansion, our leading civil engineering contractor is currently recruiting permanently for an experienced HR Manager who will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the companies HR by planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and HR policies and practices. General duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Recruitment: managing talent and succession planning; overall responsibility for recruitment activity and campaigns
  • Learning and development: providing direction on development for managers and their teams
  • Conducting inductions on new starters to the business
  • Ensuring all HR policies are in line with legislation
  • Create and maintain a clear company HR strategy and guarantee that it is managed and in line with business plans
  • Implementing the training and development agenda
  • Evaluating employee satisfaction and identifying areas that require improvement
  • Leading the HR team to deliver a comprehensive service to the business
  • Employee relations – including managing absence, disciplinary, grievances and sickness

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this senior opportunity, individuals should have a minimum of 5 years proven experience within the same position and must be proficient in using MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Additionally, the successful individual must hold excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients and consultants.

About the salary / package:

For candidates at the right level of experience, our client is offering a strong basic salary of £40,000 to £50,000 per annum (depending on how much experience gained), in addition to the further benefits associated with a large, successful organisation.
