About the Company:

Our clients are a specialist contractor delivering refurbishment, fit out, M&E, facilities and maintenance direct to client, and have built up a reputation based on quality that’s has seen their business grow within the air and landside airport environments at Heathrow and other projects range from airline lounges for Emirates, Air Canada and Cathay Pacific and shop fit outs for Lacoste and ongoing maintenance for other airport operators and projects across the London area. They have the ability to manage projects from inception to completion through design and build. Due to recent success and sustained growth it is an exciting opportunity to join and be part of a growing business.


About the Role:

Our client is looking for a Health & Safety Manager to oversee Health & Safety and Environmental matters on all projects across the whole company. This will involve assisting project teams with sub-contract works for large Main Contractors, and works as Principle Contractor, including full CDM co-ordination. The individual will be have full responsibility for company conformance reporting directly to the senior management level and will be based between the companies Heathrow and Gatwick Duties will include but will not be limited to:


  • Ensure application and enforcement of all company policies and procedures on Health & Safety.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental legislation, codes of practice and any other relevant literature.
  • To be proactive in developing the internal management systems in relation to all aspects of HS&E, and play a key role in moving forward to ISO18001 & 14001 accreditation.
  • To ensure that each project is in possession of the relevant health and safety documentation.
  • Ensure targets and objectives are met – safety, accident analysis, etc.
  • Identify, implement and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Identify health and safety training needs on a continual basis and carry out training of company staff as appropriate.
  • To carry out and report on accident investigations as required.
  • Undertake site inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct monitoring inspections of contractors undertaking high risk operations & verify their compliance with previously agreed method statements & risk assessments.
  • Promote a positive Health and Safety culture through company policy

  • Experience in the Sub Contracting or Main Contracting environment
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
