About the Role:

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Finishing Manager who has a solid permanent work background and has experience working within the New Build sector to work on the latter stages of a high spec university building in the massive regeneration of the Kings Cross area. The project is a £30m steel frame university building consisting of work spaces, break out rooms and research facilities (not accommodation). The finishing is to an exceptionally high spec for a university, with top quality stone, marble and wood floors and partitions. The Finishing Manager will join a team of 3, managing 3 floors of the 9 storey building each reporting into a well experienced Site Manager in tight knit team.

This role will require an experienced finishing manager with a fine eye details, strong trades experience and the filling to get their hands dirty. With a strong management team already on Site, this role will suit a candidate who is keen to get their hands dirty on Site, rather than a more office biased candidate.   • Will be responsible for all the fit-out and finishing stages of the projects.
  • You will need to have experience of taking a project from start to completion and working on the back end of projects to finishing stage.
  • Applicants must be able to work at a fast pace and to strict deadlines, yet still be able to achieve the highest levels of quality and workmanship.
  • Must be able to conduct snagging and de-snagging tasks and ensure that all snags are closed out by the appropriate subcontractor.
  • Must be a proactive individual that has the capability of taking on a more hands on role and closing out any snags if necessary also.
  • Must be able to deal effectively with subcontractors and management alike and be capable of resolving any on the job issues in a strategic and timely manner.

 

About the benefits / rewards:

The specific salary will be dependent on level of exposure to industry and experience on related roles and projects. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary around £45,000 – £65,000 which will also include various benefits relating to bonuses, travel and healthcare.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be a well-established Finishing Manger / Foreman who has a stable background of working within Tier 1 Main Contractors or well established, relevant sub-contractors. The candidate should have experience of working on large projects, managing similar projects to a high spec. The successful candidate will have a drive and motivation to progress within a well-established business with an eye for progressing within this company. The successful candidate could come from a trade or university background, with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
