About the position:

Due to on-going success, my client is currently seeking an experienced Divisional Manager to assist the company in developing a new regeneration division covering remediation, demolition and enabling works. This division will complement their existing civil engineering division and provide organic growth to the overall business.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in meeting clients with a view to increasing the profile of the company and increasing new business opportunities. You will be asked to operate across the UK and assist the Estimating Manager to plan and allocate work to optimise the use of resources and ensure that all pre-qualification and tender timetables are met. Additionally, you will also hold responsibility for managing a portfolio of projects, primarily throughout the North of England

As a Divisional Manager, your role will include, but will not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Liaise with clients and the estimator to prepare and deliver pre-qualification questionnaires.
  • Identify key decision makers within clients who are able to provide repeat business opportunities.
  • Build strong solid relationships.

Management and Delivery:

  • Select, supervise and co-ordinate subcontractors.
  • Formulising contract scopes.
  • Ensure client satisfaction during projects and at handover.
  • Supervise site supervisors, foreman and engineers.
  • Prepare, monitor and lead programmes.
  • Prepare progress and technical reports for clients.
  • Attend sites to review/advice on progress and problem solve to assist the team to deliver the contract according to schedule and budget.
  • Oversee H&S responsibility.
  • Implement project requirements to meet client specification in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Monitor cost / value of projects.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities and communities plus attending meetings to feed back to the technical team to ensure projects are being completed to agreed scope and specifications.

About the requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must a minimum of 5 years project management experience within remediation / demolition and on projects ranging up to £5M.The candidate must have a background in environmental science and be familiar with remediation technologies and how they may best be used to provide solutions to brownfield sites.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Full UK Driving License
  • SMSTS
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Environmental Management or a related discipline
  • CSCS
  • Proficient in all Microsoft office including Microsoft Project for project planning

About the salary / rewards:

For this permanent position, my client has left the salary / package negotiable as the specifics will depend on experience and suitability however a very rewarding salary and performance related profit share will be offered with this important position. Furthermore, there will be a generous package offered including company car, pension, health care and holiday.
