About the Role:

 

My client has an exciting new position to suit a well-experienced Operations Manager to lead a high performing division within this exceptional company. This complex role will cover the overall management of 4 – 7 live new build & refurbishment projects within Greater London, managing a team of Project & Construction Managers within a mixture of sectors including Commercial, Residential and Healthcare projects. Responsibility will start from pre-con stages, right through to completion on all live projects within the division. This role is an excellent way in to a successful and growing business and comes with the opportunity for long-term career progression. This role is hands-on, and will require this individual be proactive with their staff, leading by example with an excellent eye for detail and solving problems before they arise.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for;

 

  • The highest possible level of H&S
  • Compliance with business procedures and process to minimise risk,
  • Early warning and intervention to mitigate potential issues from increasing risk profile
  • Point of Contact for client PM’s during delivery phase
  • Maintaining working relationship with client teams
  • Lead responsibility from launch to handover
  • Lead on Post contract defects
  • Ensuring on-site quality and QA / T&I plans
  • Recording and recovering entitlements
  • Recruitment and integration for PM’s & CM’s,
  • Performance management of PM’s & CM’s,
  • Forward planning to prevent potential issues,
  • Ensure Project Reviews are prepared and actions are closed
  • Look ahead to ensure integration of design/lead in and construction deliverables
  • Project closeout and handover process to meet agreed on dates
  • Management of teams to comply with the Main Contract

 

 

About the benefits/rewards:

 

The specific salary will be dependent on the level of exposure to industry and experience on related roles and projects. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary around £125,000 which will also include various benefits relating to healthcare & pension.

 

Requirements:

 

The ideal candidate will be a well-established Operations / Construction Manager who has a stable background of working within well-established Main Contractors within similar markets. The perfect candidate will have progressed from a Construction Project Management background, knowing the building process with the ability to be hands on when required. Career stability will be key in the selection process, as the clients are keen to land a colleague with only a small handful of previous employers. This candidates experience should cover new build and refurbishment projects ranging from £2m to £20m.

 

  • Stable Background – Only a handful of previous employers
  • To be degree qualified in Construction Management
  • Hands on approach and can do attitude
  • Experienced in setting up and running projects, preferably in key target markets of commercial, residential and healthcare projects.
  • Understanding of funding and financing routes
  • Experience of working in large organisations
  • Proactive in learning with ability to influence others
  • A good communicator, able to interact with clients in a positive engaging manner
  • A team player
