Development Manager – House Builder

Salary – £75,000 + Car Allowance + Package

About the Role:

Our client is recruiting for a senior member of staff to take autonomous responsibility for a large residential development in West London and will be responsible for leading the overall project team as client in the control and co-ordination of individual projects from handover from the Land Department to completion. Ensuring that at all times the overall financial viability of the development is maintained. The organisation is constantly growing and for the right individual there is an incredible amount of prospect on offer in the way of both future work & projects but also professional development. You will be responsible for:

  • The profit, return on capital employed, cash and funding on each development.
  • Ensuring delivery of the annual Forecast through compliance with approved processes, procedures and control documentation.
  • Lead the development process as project team leader in accordance with realistic programmes including: Land acquisition, Planning design, Planning application including any Section 106 Agreement requirements, Detailed design process, Construction method statements, Sales method statements, Relevant internal approvals e.g. Managing Director, CMC, Handover to Project Management (whilst retaining overall responsibility for the project).
  • Additionally the authority for ensuring staff reporting (directly or indirectly) to you, meet their required standards.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be able to demonstrate strong commercial experience of all stages of the residential development process including Planning, Design & Construction.
  • Ideally a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Client residential housing and/or mixed use development environment.
  • Ideally to be RICS or CIOB accredited.
