Customer Service Operative – Residential maintenance and repair

About the Company: Our client is a well respected and established construction company who specalise in Housing developments in and around London. At present they have many projects in and around London. Some examples of their current projects are a development based in North West London which comprises of a selection of stylish studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and penthouses, Another one of their projects was a development based in South West London along the riverside which comprises of prestigious apartments and Penthouses. Our client has won 3 awards this year for ‘Considerate Constructor’.

About the Role: The roles of the Maintenance Operative is toprovide warranty works as directed by Customer Service Manager within allocated geographical area as part of the Customer Service operation from the point of  completion on a property through the 2 year warranty period and beyond if required.  Therefore our client is looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative who will be based out of their head office but will be required to travel to different development sites through South East London and surrounds. You will be reporting into the Customer Service Manager on a daily basis.

Your Duties will include:

  • Ensure property and furnishings are properly protected prior to commencing works. Every care must be taken to avoid disturbance or accidental damage to the customer’s belongings and property.
  • Carry out accepted warranty or defect works and ensure they are completed in accordance with weekly schedule of appointments and worksheets, providing good workmanship.
  • Ensure that all materials and tools necessary for the satisfactory completion of the works have been sourced and are available prior to commencing works. Assist with collection of materials when necessary.
  • Focus on completion of works on schedule and within programme and timescale given to customer.
  • Record any variation to the works undertaken and all requests made by the customer on the Standard Customer Service Work Request Form and where further investigation is required, document the reasons and pass to the Customer Service Coordinator on the same day.
  • Be aware of completing work to both customer and company’s satisfaction and obtain written confirmation from the Customer of their satisfaction with the completion of works before a service call is deemed concluded.
  • Report any persistent recurring warranty or defect issues to the Customer Service Manager and note any customer details that may assist Customer Service in on-going management of customer relationship.
  • Inspect properties for defects and oversee works undertaken by sub-contractors, as required.
  • Ensure the Company’s interests and reputation is maintained and enhanced.

About the benefits / rewards: In return for your hard work and commitment, our client can offer an excellent remuneration package including a competitive basic salary between £32,000 – £37,000 along with a company vehicle, and 20 days holiday (additional day for each years’ service). Requirements: Our client is looking to recruit an operative with at least a 10 year trade background in either carpentry, painting or finishing, or a very strong multi trade background. You should have experience in residential construction and prior experience of working with a developer. Ideal candidates will have experience of working within the role of Maintenance Operative for a minimum of 5 years. The ideal individual will be highly motivated, idea-driven and capable of exceeding expectations. The candidate must also be able to confidently interact with clients on a day to day basis.
