The company have been going for over 60 years and over the last 30 years they have grown into a main contractor undertaking multi-disciplinary, construction projects. With turnover of over 500M they are in a brilliant and steady financial situation. The company specialise in many parts of construction such as building, civil engineering, demolition, land remediation, land restoration, sports and leisure and rail.

About the role

Due to the company continuing to expand they are looking for a buyer to work in the civil engineering part of the business and work within Buckinghamshire. Responsibilities will include supporting the Deputy Project Manager by following up orders, analysing sub-contractors, plant hire and supplier reliability and value for money whilst preparing reports to maximise efficiencies. You will be involved in creating, maintaining and managing a register of requisitions/orders which will be kept up to date at all times whilst supporting the deputy Project Manager and if required to lead the management and administration of the suppliers contracts. The successful candidates will be working with the Senior Procurement Manager and the Deputy Project Manager to implement the Procurement Strategy, assisting Commercial, Project and Site Managers with procurement functions.

The successful candidates will ensure compliance with the company and Client’s procurement procedures as well as ensuring materials are provided on time and to budget.

No Freelances will be considered for this role.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within Civil Engineering on infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience as a Sub Contract buyer.
  • Ability to adapt to complex project organisations within new environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • UK driving license.
