To date, our client has successfully completed technical projects throughout the  UK for local authorities, developers, main contractors and consultants either in the role of principal contractor or subcontractor which range from small spills through to large multi-technology remediation of brownfield sites.


About the position:

Due to present and anticipated workload, our client has identified the need to expand their team and therefore is recruiting permanently for an Assistant Site Manager. Reporting directly to a Site Manager, you will be site based throughout the South West, South East and The West Midlands, working with the experienced remediation team on all aspects of remediation and will be responsible for assisting with operational delivery of large remediation projects to ensure they fall in line with the programme and budget. With direction and support, as an Assistant Site Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering operational aspects of remediation projects to ensure objectives are met and ensure technical aspects are delivered with support from Project Managers, Directors and Remediation Engineers.
  • Overseeing subcontractors in accordance with approved method statements.
  • Working with and directing site operatives and subcontractors to ensure projects are implemented safely.
  • Operating and directing plant.
  • Working with the technical team to ensure all monitoring is carried out in accordance with permits and implementing control measures where required.
  • Liaising with clients and consultants on site.


About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity, it is vital that individuals have at least 2 years site based experience whilst working for a contractor in the UK. It would be advantageous if this has been gained within the contaminated land industry, however, experience in civil engineering /earthworks would form a good foundation. Due to the remit of work, a valid driving license is essential and plant operation experience/certificates will be advantageous.


About the benefits:

For this role we are targeting individuals looking to earn anywhere between £30,000 – £40,000 per annum, however specific remuneration will depend on experience and suitability.  Furthermore, there will be a generous package offered in addition to excellent career development opportunities.
