About the position:

Due to a healthy order book, there is need for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the successful commercial and financial management of projects and tenders. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will assist in managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensure delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. Key responsibilities will include assisting in the day to day tasks to provide further commercial support to both project delivery and estimating teams within the company which can be broken down into the following; Assisting in the prompt presentation for all applications for payment and Final Accounts, including all contractual entitlements / assisting in ensuring that all payments are received accordance with the contract terms, as well as assisting in the preparation and presentation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) and final cost/value forecasts.  The role will also encompass procurement, negotiation and the placing of sub-contract orders; which inevitably leads to  assisting in the financial and commercial management of sub-contracts through settlement if Final Accounts. All tasks need a high level detail and pride in presentation, especially when drafting contractual letters/notices to ensure they are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, individuals must have:

  • A minimum of 2 years post graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably gained whilst working for a demolition or general civil engineering contractor in the UK.
  • A degree in Quantity surveying on similar.
  • Working knowledge of all forms of contract – JCT and NEC forms of contract, plus bespoke forms of agreement on occasions.

About the Salary:

For this permanent position, we are targeting individuals looking to earn anywhere from £30,000 to £45,000 per annum, however specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company.
