Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Civil Engineering Quantity Surveyor urgently required – Bristol & M4 Corridor

An opportunity has been created for a Quantity Surveyor to join an International Civil Engineering Main Contractor based along the M4 Corridor.

As a company they are recognised worldwide as being an established reputable leading name within highways, utilities, roads, rail and tunnelling. Currently they are undertaking a number of schemes working in partnership with some of the leading names within Construction on some of the biggest projects in the UK.

With this in mind they are currently looking to expand their commercial team for a prestigious long term Highways project.

·Working with and supporting the Senior QS

·Support the project team in all commercial matters

·Liaise with the site teams and take the lead with contract administration

·Ensure timely submission of valuations

·Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are received on time

·Identify and realise opportunities to maximise cost/value management

·Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely monthly valuation reports

·Assist with the procurement and management of subcontract packages

·Assist with preparation of contractual claims

·Measure and assess the work undertaken and then submit detailed, accurate and timely applications

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working with a Civil Engineering contractor
  • Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
  • Educated to Degree level, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years previous experience within a QS role
  • Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office & Excel
  • Excellent Communication skills both written and verbally
  • Must be an excellent organiser with proven time management skills
  • Must be flexible in hours of work and travel
