My client is one of the largest privately owned construction development and property Services Company in the UK and they are seeking new employees to be a part of their award winning team. They have over 100 years’ experience in the construction industry with a turnover circa of £1.30bn they have the financial strength and technical expertise to undertake some of the most significant construction The Company ensures that all staff are properly trained and experienced and they annually carry out a review of staff training needs.


About the Role


To be a part of this impressive team you need to have at least 2 – 3 years of experience working within a commercial team. You will be working on an enormous Grade 2 listed building in West London. To be considered for this role you need to have a good work ethic and should be able to work under a Project Surveyor and within a team of Surveyors with different levels of knowledge. Client interaction is a major part of the Contract and you should be able to liaise with Client and have the personal skills that would endear the Client team.



Responsibilities for this role


  • Measurement – Due to the nature of the Contract there will be a requirement for re-measurement of all works packages as and when the scaffold erection allows. As part of the re-measurement the candidate will need to liaise with Client/ Contract Administrator/ Specialist to come to an agreement.


  • Pricing of Scoping Documents – Post measurement the pricing of Scoping Documents with an agreed Schedule of Rates. This will entail the candidate agreeing the Priced Schedules with the Client so they must have worked with Schedule of Rates in the past and have a good understanding of the work that goes into this sort of task.


  • Procurement – Working within the Commercial Team to Procure the Works packages upon the success of the above points. This is to include producing a procurement programme and to liaise with the Operation team to procure all of the works packages in a timely manner.


  • Subcontract Management – Management of the subcontractors selected from procurement and full liaison throughout the programme of works. To carry out interim subcontract payments as the project progresses, and agree final accounts at the end of the Project with Subcontractor. Previous experience with high value subcontractors and complex Contract Documents is needed for this task.
