They and the seven other skydivers jumping for bibic experienced an exhilarating 60 seconds of freefall from 15,000ft, followed by the peace and tranquillity of the parachute ride down in the glorious Easter Weekend sunshine. (Which also meant they were treated to phenomenal views of the South Coast of Devon!) It was an experience they will never forget.
Harriet (L) and Laura (R) in the middle of their 60-second freefall
Of the jump, Harriet and Laura had the following to say:
Harriet – “I was extremely excited to complete the jump. And I loved every second of it. It was an absolute privilege to take part and raise money for such a worthy cause. And to tick something off of my bucket list. I highly recommend a skydive to anyone, especially if you can do one to raise money for a good cause! The suspense that was building whilst on the plane was intense. Then the freefall was completely liberating. The feeling of being completely weightless and taking in all the sights is indescribable. Being able to see everything, just breathe in the fresh air and float was incredible. The experience was second to none and definitely something I have never experienced before but would love to again!”
Laura – “To say I was nervous, would be an understatement but there was no way I was backing out – I knew as a group, we were all it in together. It was an amazing experience and with the glorious weather, the views were incredible. I even got the chance to take control of the parachute. Safe to say a few drinks were consumed afterwards to celebrate being back on safe ground.”
Collectively, the bibic jumpers raised over £3000 (with money still coming in!). These vital contributions will help bibic to continue offering children with physical and learning disabilities along with their families the vital support they need. Read more about bibic here.
Thank you to Andy from bibic for having us as part of the event and for the wonderful team at Skydive Buzz for jumping with us and for keeping us safe.
