2020 Rickmansworth Pancake Race

Shrove Tuesday always means one thing to the residents of Rickmansworth – the annual Pancake Race in aid of Watford Mencap, a local charity who support and work with people who have learning disabilities, their families and carers. (To find out more about their valuable work, click here.) This annual event sees local businesses compete in a fun, pancake flipping relay! And this year was no different. The traffic stopped, supporters lined the street cheering on teams as they raced down the high street (a good few in fancy dress!) all vying to take home the coveted winners shield.

This year, we are honoured to have sponsored the event for the 3rd year in a row. We are also honoured to have won the race, bringing home the winners shield for the fourth year in a row. The competition, however, was tough – running were a couple of estate agents, the Three Rivers Council and a Bootcamp club, to name but a few. The local firefighters also took part, but running in their steel-capped leather boots did put them at a slight disadvantage!

We are waiting to hear the amount that was raised this year, but from the number of Rickmansworth residents that turned up today to support the event, it’s sure to top that of previous years.

There is still time to donate and if you would like to do so, please donate here.

Enjoy pictures of our team running the race below. Well Done guys! Can we make it 5 in a row next year?
