Over the years they have successfully developed a wide range of expertise in transport planning, traffic engineering and highway design, and this dedicated Transport and Highways team works collaboratively with the Structural and Civil Engineering division, as well as the Geomatics specialists.

About the role:

Our client’s dedicated Transport and Highways team is responsible for site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre-application advice. They also undertake Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans to accompany planning applications, as well as Traffic modelling and junction capacity assessments. Alongside these, the team is responsible for undertaking Highway design and producing Road Safety and Non-Motorised User Audits.

In essence, this is a highly motivated team, committed to the delivery of successful projects for key clients.

This ethos has resulted in an expanding workload and the requirement for a Transport Planner. They are confident that the suitable professional will enjoy their work and the varied challenges provided by clients. On a day to day basis a Transport Planner within this company can expect their role to include carrying out site appraisals, feasibility studies and providing pre-application advice. The professional in question will also assist in preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans, whilst undertaking traffic modelling and junction capacity assessments. You will have an opportunity to liaise with clients, project team members and local authorities, all with a view to promote the image of the Consultancy.

About the requirements:

The ideal professional will be qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject with 3+ years’ post-graduate experience. You will demonstrate the ability to professionally represent the company, showcasing strong communication skills, both verbally and written.

Experience in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and Access Appraisals will prove advantageous along with an understanding of TRICS, ARCADY and PICADY (Junctions8). An understanding of micro-simulation traffic modelling would also be an advantage.

Overall our client is keen to bring someone on board who is able to deal with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision.
