Key Activities

 

·         Manage technical team comprising Planning & Design / Technical co-ordinators and Engineering disciplines

·         Provide architectural / engineering support and technical guidance for regional site based operations.

·         Manage and deliver a smooth transition of new sites from the Land and Planning team through into the Technical Team.

·         Organise reports, surveys, designs etc to enable sites to be managed within the Technical team

·         Review site strategies to inform working drawings process.

·         Prepare development programmes for Team in general to manage workload and work with team for site specific programmes.

·         Appoint, Co-ordinate and control expenditure of external consultants. Aid Technical Director in producing LPE fee budgets.

·         Ensure Technical team provide full administrative support to regional site based operations for working drawings, ancillary details and technical information.

·         To co-ordinate and manage the issue of technical documentation.

·         Coordination of drawing issues and the maintenance of an efficient file management system.

·         Ensure management and programming of all engineering design in accordance with local and national standards.

·         Co-ordination of services infrastructure and negotiation of costs and agreements on schemes.

·         Manage consultants in road and sewer design on and ensure Autocad/PDS/microdrainage formats are used.

·         Co-ordinate and manage external consultants to resolve any further Architectural/Engineering issues.

·         Provide assistance and support in a timely manner to allow discharging of planning and building control.

·         Resolve issues prior to CML stage of production.

·         Manage and monitor EMS/CDM/Health and Safety/Environmental issues/checklist process.

·         Follow Taylor Wimpey Health and Safety policies.

 

Management

·         Programme workload and delegate projects to Technical Coordinators.

·         Manage & Appoint external consultants and control external fees and expenditure.

·         Monitor site specific fee expenditure to inform appraisals.

·         Ensure working drawing packages are complete, coordinate and are issued on programme to meet business needs.

·         To liaise with NHBC, resolving technical & design issues as necessary.

·         Ensure site production queries are closed out to enable progressive product development.

·         Support Customer Care team as necessary.

·         Work to create a positive team spirit.

·         Be pro active in approach to projects.

·         Manage team procedures in line with Operating Framework.

·         Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff on assertion program

 

Communication

  • Liaise with Regional Management / Depts
  • Liaise with Regional suppliers &
  • Procure and manage Consultants
  • Maintain network of contacts: NHBC, Local Authorities, Service Companies etc.
  • Liaise with Head Office

 

Commercial Activity

  • Must be able to communicate well at all levels internally within the group and externally with public bodies.
  • Embrace innovative solutions to resolve technical and design issues.
  • Should have a broad understanding of corporate vision and policies.
  • Work with the project team to ensure the most desired and economical decisions are made and implemented into the design.

 

Salary & Package

  • Up to £80,000 pa
  • Car: Company Car Grade 5 or car allowance £6245
