I’m looking for a Sub Agent to work on a major infrastructure project

About the company 

Our Client is a global tier-one main contractor who is currently operating with a turnover of £20 billion per annum. They have offices worldwide in continents such as Europe, North America, Asia, and Australasia as well as in the UK, their head office is based in the West Country and they have local depots based in London, the West Midlands, and Yorkshire. Despite having an overall specialism in rail, they also have teams that specialise in highways infrastructure, tunnelling, energy, bridges, and structures. They have been trading for 150 years and have generated a superb reputation, this had led to them working on prestigious projects such as Crossrail, HS2, and LPT2.

About the role 

The company is looking for Sub Agent to work on a 6-year tunnelling project based in the Snowdonia National Park for National Grid. The purpose of this project is to reduce the visual impact of our National Grids overhead lines across the Dwyryd Estuary near Porthmadog to conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife, and environmental heritage of the Snowdonia landscape. The types of works you will be involved in will be heavy civil engineering such as shafts, concrete works, piling, deep drainage, temporary works, and earthworks. The role will involve managing sub-contractors, procurement, quality control, and writing RAMS. You will be reporting directly to the Site Agent but also managing a team that involves Senior Engineers, Project Engineers, and Site Engineers.

You will be rewarded with a basic salary ranging between £40,000 – £50,000 + a car allowance ranging between £4400 – £5000. If you’re lodging away, you will also be given a lodging away allowance.


You must have experience working on major civil engineering infrastructure projects for a UK-based Civil Engineering main contractor. On top of this, you will need to have had experience working as a Sub Agent with good stability on your CV. My client is looking for someone from an engineering background so ideally someone who is degree qualified in Civil Engineering.
