About the Company

My client is a family-owned company turning over £300M. Six members of the family still work for the company within different regions, this results in the family identity being maintained throughout the whole of the company. Covering regions such as the South East, North West, and Scotland my client is very well covered across the UK, working on projects that cover Water, Power, Multi-utilities, and Civil Engineering.

Being one of the leading names within Utilities and Civil Engineering, the client has a low turnover of staff. People like to stay at this company for a long time because of the high standards of work they set and the huge opportunities within the company to progress, develop and grow.

My client has landed a few huge contracts with the likes of HS2, Thames Water, and UKPN. This is due to the standard of work they produce and because of their huge diversity programme. Diversity is something they take very seriously and something they like to involve within the company culture; a concept that is brilliant to see within the modern construction industry.

About the opportunity:

This is a brilliant opportunity for a technically minded Site Manager to join a leading Utility contractor, working on the HS2 diversion works. For this opportunity, the successful candidate will be responsible for several different elements. You will be involved in liaising with a range of project stakeholders from designers, Quantity Surveyors, client Project Managers, and client operations staff.

Other responsibilities will involve maintaining strict quality control procedures and ensuring compliance with all environmental and Health and Safety legislation and policies. You will get involved in groundworks, deep excavations, confined spaces, CIPP lining, and over-pumping works.

About the benefits and rewards:

You will be working on HS2, a landmark, world-famous Civil Engineering project. On top of that, my client makes personal development, career progression, and long-term stability a priority. The successful professional will be working for a company that encourages internal promotion and want to see employees progress through the company. You will also be part of a fun and energetic working environment where they are motivated to do well. You will be rewarded with a salary of £60,000 + package.

About the requirements:

I am looking for someone who has at least 7 years of Civil Engineering experience and at least 2 years working as a Site Agent/Site Manager for a UK-based utility contractor.

I am looking for someone who has worked on projects from the design phase through to completion.

Ideally, I am looking for someone who is degree qualified or has an NVQ Level 6.
