This family run organisation has a turnover of circa £400m making them the third largest private housebuilder in the UK. The figures reflect the growth the business has experienced since 2012 – more than doubling its sales volume. This growth is underpinned by some substantial developments coming on stream.  These include a residential led student accommodation scheme in Cambridge and a large development in Oxford. They have also partnered up with Housing Associations signing their largest deal to date for 2 sites in East London with a combined GDV of £350m.

About the role:

We are looking for 2 experienced Site Managers to control, plan and deliver a large scheme within the Southern Region of this company and report directly to the Project Manager. The specific scheme consists of 160 units with a selection of houses and flats, a cricket pavillion and a small refurbishment.

About the requirements:

  • Groundworks and Timber Frame build experience
  • Proven track record of running a multiple team scheme of similar size
  • Computer literacy
  • Good communication skills
  • First Aid at work
  • Membership to professional body desirable
  • HNC or Degree Qualified
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Scaffold Inspection Certificate
  • Proficient in ASTA Power Projects
  • Supervisor / Appointed Person Crane (Qualified)
  • Experience of lifting operations
  • Experience in managing Assistants & Trainees
  • Self-motivation, drive and passion to succeed are as important as is actual experience in the role, together with the management of a large team is essential including being the head of a team
  • A proven track record of quality delivery on time and to budget is paramount
  • Recent experience of working on mixed used schemes incorporating mainly residential and affordable housing ideally on projects £10m+ incorporating Timber Frame, traditional construction and Code for Sustainable Home

In general salaries will take into consideration a number of factors including market practice, the individuals experience and responsibilities and pay structures within the company itself. Salaries might be set below the market level, and subject to performance, increased as the employee gains experience over time. In this instance the company are looking to pay up to £55,000 basic salary plus package.
