About the company

My client is a tier 2 main contractor who work predominantly in London and the South East, but have recently won a D&B project in Stoke, working with Network Rail. They are a multi-disciplined contractor with works ranging from track renewal and maintenance, planned and reactive maintenance, platform extensions, structures and depots infrastructure as well as facility management and Civil Engineering services within a rail environment.

The company are currently turning over £75M with a target turnover of £85m by the end of 2020. The company ethos is extremely friendly and very teamwork orientated, they have plenty of social events and they work very closely with each other with continued support from Project Manager and directors.

About the role

Due the company winning a new project they are now looking for a site engineer to join their Rail infrastructure division. The successful candidate will need to co-ordinate the site engineering control activities to satisfy contract programme requirements, delegating or carrying out setting out as necessary. You will need to ensure the standard Company procedures are adopted in carrying out setting out operations, and that effective methods of communication are used in transmitting information to operatives and subcontractors. The initial project you will be on will be a D&B project working with Network Rail, the types of works will involve reinforced concrete and drainage works.

You will be in charge of assisting the Site Manager in the initial site set-up, ensuring Company systems and procedures are in place and implemented. It’s important to note you’ll need to apply effective planning techniques, methods analysis and controls to ensure the most effective and continuous use of resources.

Benefits and Rewards

You will be working for an established, well respected rail contractor, a contractor who will benefit your learning and development.

You will be rewarded with a very competitive salary of £25,000 – £40,000 + a company car or car allowance.
