My client is a Tier One Main Contractor, turning over £1B. They specialise within Civil Engineering and infrastructure across the UK and despite being a Tier One Main Contractor, they also self-deliver the majority of their works. The types of Civil Engineering work they cover involve highways, rail, marine, bridges, nuclear and energy.

About the role

Due to the company continuing to grow and win more projects within the South and South East they are now looking for a Site Engineer to join their delivery team. The successful candidate will need to co-ordinate the site engineering control activities to satisfy contract programme requirements, carry out setting out as necessary. You will need to ensure the standard Company procedures are adopted in carrying out setting out operations, and that effective methods of communication are used in transmitting information to operatives and subcontractors.

The project you will be working on will be a highways infrastructure project which could last up to 18 months. The types of works will be deep drainage, earthworks, piling and concrete works. This opportunity has superb potential to help the correct professional to improve as an engineer and enhance their long-term career. Their will be several engineering training courses and, in the future, management training courses to help with professional’s long-term career aspirations.

  • Civil Engineering Qualification – Degree level or equivalent.
  • Setting out experience.
  • Background working on highways and heavy civil engineering infrastructure projects in the UK, covering concrete works, deep drainage and major earthworks.
  • Ideally, I will need someone with 2 + years’ experience working for one tier 1 or tier 2 company within Civil Engineering.
