About the Company

My client is a multi-disciplined tier one main contractor who are currently turning over £310M (26% on the last financial year). They are a cash rich contractor with a great family feel to them and the way the treat their staff is something they pride themselves with. They specialise in several different elements of Civil Engineering, such as; water and waste infrastructure, highways and bridge infrastructure and Commercial Construction

Due to the ongoing growth my client is now involved in more water frameworks than any other UK contractor. They work with Seven Trent water, Welsh Water, Cumbrian Water, United Utilities and Yorkshire Water. Despite the expansion they have also maintained their family feel atmosphere where it’s a fun working environment and everyone is treated as a name, not a number, with the respect from the Project Managers and Contracts Managers across the company.

About the opportunity:

For this opportunity, the successful candidate will be responsible for several different elements. You will be involved in liaising with a range of project stakeholders from designers, Quantity Surveyors, client Project Managers and client operations staff. This opportunity will be based in Gloucester on their Severn Trent Water contract. The types of works will cover deep drainage, earthwork’s and reinforced concrete.

Other responsibilities will involve maintaining strict quality control procedures and ensuring compliance with all environmental and Health and Safety legislation and policies.  The types of projects that they have worked on have ranged up to the value of £50M.

About the requirements:

You are required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC or equivalent qualification) in either Construction, Civils, Commercial management or Quantity Surveying.

To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as a Site Manager or a Site Agent within Civil Engineering for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 company, ideally with water experience but this isn’t essential. Your work history should be stable, having worked at your previous companies for a number of years.
