My client is a privately-owned property giant with a portfolio valued in excess of £2bn including hotels, golf courses, residential space for rent, sale & development, and retail including 2 shopping centers. This exciting, cash-rich company owns, builds, and operates all of its own ventures, making them a truly unique business.  With net assets in the region of £2bn and further land acquisition underway all the time, the project portfolio for this group is substantial and ever-growing.

 

The property management arm of this business is ever-growing, matching the pace of the increasing portfolio. The current team is made of senior-level industry experts with backgrounds ranging from major consultancies to construction companies to IT.  This fast-moving crack team is well supported at the group level when required but is also allowed autonomy within their remit.

 

As the property side of the business grows, the team needs to keep up, meaning this exciting business is on a recruitment drive and is looking to secure the services of current and future industry leaders who can support them in their continued growth. About the opportunity:

 

This business has started the hunt for a Shopping Centre Manager to join their team and take the responsibility of managing the day-to-day operations of a recently acquired, large shopping centre in Sussex. The role will be based at the head office in Middlesex with flexibility between home working, and work at the shopping centre itself and will entail managing all aspects of the shopping centre with a focus on working closely with retail partners via the relative agencies to maximise revenue for the centre as a whole. In this complex and fast paced position, the individual will be expected to be able to run the centre with complete autonomy taking all aspects of the complex eco-system of the shopping centre into account, including managing marketing to increase footfall, managing and attracting large, relevant and attractive retail partners, delivering events and all other aspects and issues that come part and parcel.

 

This multi-faceted position offers amazing progression within this company, with a goal of promoting this person to a Head of Retail position with the group, overseeing 2 shopping centres with more to come.

 

About the benefits and rewards:

 

The salary will be dependent on the level of exposure to the industry and experience in related roles. The company offers excellent opportunities for progression alongside a basic salary of around £80k. The package will also include various benefits relating to travel and healthcare.

About the requirements:

 

Professionals must have relevant experience, directly relating to the operation of large shopping centres with experience in dealing with large multinational retailers. Outside of this, They must be commercially focused, able to multitask at pace, be capable of dealing with all levels of stakeholders including multimillionaires and customers of the shopping centre.

 

The perfect candidate will have a stable career history with demonstrated, relatable experience, relevant qualifications and a hardworking, fast-thinking attitude. With these things combined, the right person in this role has no upper limits.
