About the Company

Our client is a contractor who have been trading for just over 40 years and have gained a superb reputation within the highways sector & utilities, specialising within street lighting, highways maintenance, highways communications, S278 works and power cabling.  Due to the excellent delivery of their projects they have now picked up repeat business with Highways England, Network Rail and several councils across the UK which has seen their turnover rocket up to £50M.

About the opportunity

The company have won a 5-year framework working in derby installing fibre optic to current residential properties. So, this role will offer brilliant opportunity for someone to develop, progress and get great job stability also. The projects that you will be involved in are all going to be very fast pasted virgin & fibre contracts such as Virgin Media & City Fibre. The role will be brilliant for someone who’s looking to learn and develop and get great exposure within utilities, roads & associated Civil Engineering works.

Due to this large amount of work my client are now in a position where they can bring a new SHEQ Advisor into there current team. The successful candidate will be in charge of using the companies own health and safety policies and putting them into practice as well as supporting the Health and Safety Manager. You will be preparing your own risk assessments and going on site to make sure everything is safe and that the members of staff who are on site are following company procedures and legal procedures. This is a site-based role and the successful candidate will also need to be inventive and bring their own ideas.

Benefits and rewards

For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £30,000 to £40,000 per annum however specific salary will be defined upon experience and suitability. There will be a generous package offered; car allowance OR company vehicle in addition to standard benefits associated with a large successful company. About the requirements

You will not be considered for this position if you don’t have a NEBOSH certificate or a NWRSA ticket. Due to this position being a hands-on role they need someone who’s worked in a site-based position. On top of this, exposure to working within Civil Engineering, ideally street works (UK based contractors) is also vital.

This is a PAYE opportunity and freelances won’t be considered.
