About the role:

Due to the company’s success in the South West and the amount of new work that is already in the pipeline, there is a need for a Senior Site Manager to be placed in Plymouth as they have a project that has recently started in the region.

They have recently been awarded a site consisting of 100 units a 15-minute drive away from Plymouth, this project is expected to last 2 years. The successful candidate will be based in on-site and need to be located close to the site in Plymouth or surrounding areas. You will be responsible for the whole site, under the supervision of a Project Manager. Due to this, the successful candidate will benefit from day-to-day hands-on guidance and support from the Project Manager.

You will be expected to:

•          Support the Project Manager in coordinating trades, direct labour, and materials to meet the production programme

•          Work in conjunction with the Sales Team, ensure that regular Sales/Build meetings are attended, all Sales/Build procedures are adhered to, and inspections of all show homes are carried out

•          Accept responsibility for such duties and responsibilities as the Site Manager may determine; in particular, as and when required, deputise for the Site Manager

•          Support the Site Manager, in ensuring that the on-site Construction team is fully resourced and well-directed, with clear guidelines to their own job responsibilities, and are provided with full support in achieving these, in terms of communication, training, and development, and the organisation of the site’s workload and resources

•          Be responsible for delivering excellent customer service to customers in line with company guidelines


•          Experience of working within established build programs

•          Assertive to ensure delivery of targets by the on-site team and trades/labour

•          Ability to prioritise tasks to meet changing business needs

•          A member of the Chartered Institute of Builders and/or qualified to NVQ level in  Construction Management or a time served tradesman with considerable experience of the full range of construction trades

•          In-depth knowledge of all aspects of the construction trade and the relevant legislative requirements e.g. Health and Safety, NHBC requirements, and Building Regulations

•          Good knowledge, understanding, and experience in dealing with all issues relating to Customer Service

About the benefits and rewards:

The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary in the region of £60,000.

In addition to the basic salary, there will be benefits including car allowance, pension, and healthcare.  As well as long-term career prospects and progression, you will also work closely with the Project Manager and Contracts Manager who can offer support should you need it.

About the requirements:

The successful candidate needs to have extensive experience of working for a Developer and working on projects consisting of 50 units and above. My client is looking for candidates who can show stability of employment throughout their career keeping each appointment for a minimum of 3 years per employer.
