My client is a UK-based engineering company that specialises in the design and delivery of complex rail projects. They have a strong track record of success in a variety of rail sectors. They turned over £70M last year and continue to grow.
They have extensive experience in the design and construction of new stations, as well as the refurbishment and upgrading of existing stations. The company has worked on a variety of projects, including the construction of the new White Rose Rail Station in Leeds, the refurbishment of London Kings Cross Station, and the upgrading of the signaling system at Manchester Piccadilly Station.
They work with experienced track engineers who can design, construct, and maintain rail tracks. My client has worked on a variety of projects, including the installation of a new track, the renewal of an existing track, and the improvement of track geometry.
They work on signaling projects as well as bridges and tunnels. This involves the construction of new bridges and tunnels, the refurbishment of existing bridges and tunnels, and the improvement of bridge and tunnel safety.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to winning new projects they are now looking for a senior engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will need to co-ordinate the site engineering control activities to satisfy contract programme requirements and delegating as well as getting involved on site and setting out. The project you will be on will be a rail depot project, working mainly on the structures but there will be a small amount of track work involved also. This opportunity has superb potential to help the correct professional to improve as an engineer and enhance their long-term career.
The successful candidate will be in charge of looking after a team of site engineers, ranging from 4-7 and it is important to note this opportunity has great potential to help people progress into a sub agent then in the future a project manager. This opportunity will be site-based and can be PAYE or a freelancer. The project is just outside of Birmingham.
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for any of these positions you will be required to have had experience working in rail infrastructure for tier 1 or tier 2 companies within the UK with strong stability. It’s important to have worked for each of your previous companies for at least 3 years per company.
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anything from £50,000 to £60,000 per annum however specific salary will be defined upon experience and suitability. There will be a generous package offered; travel allowance OR company vehicle in addition to standard benefits associated with a large successful company. They are open to freelancers for this role.
