About the company:

My client is an established, hands on tier one main contractor turning over £200M, which puts them in the top 20 largest Civil Engineering contractors in the UK. They are a proud Welsh Contractor who work throughout Wales and the South West of England, going as far down as Portsmouth. My client is a forward thinking, multi-disciplined contractor who cover rail infrastructure, highways maintenance & infrastructure, bridge infrastructure, surfacing, water management and utilities. They work within the private and public sector working on projects that can range from £100K – £100M. The types of works they cover can range from deep drainage, major earthwork’s, land remediation and plenty of concrete works.

About the role:

Due to expansion and steady growth my client is now looking to strengthen their Commercial team. The successful professional will be responsible for managing costs across multiple civil engineering projects, ensuring each is profitable for the Company. You will be involved with the reviewing, evaluation and delivery of payments as well as developing client relationships. The projects that you will be involved in will include. The project valuations will range from £2M – £10M and they will mainly be rail infrastructure works. As a senior quantity surveyor, you’ll also be in charge of having your own team of quantity surveyors and assistant quantity surveyors.

You will undertake general surveying of projects as required, which will include reviewing and pricing variations and preparing valuations for the respective Project Manager and Commercial Director.

The role is a permanent position. No freelancers will be considered.

About the requirements:

You are required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC or equivalent qualification) in either Construction, Civils, Commercial management or Quantity Surveying.

To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within Civil Engineering for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 company. Your work history should be stable; ideally you should have worked at your previous companies for a number of years.

A UK driving licence is mandatory for this role.
