About the Company:

My client is a privately owned Main Contractor that undertakes projects across a variety of construction sectors, including Research and Development, Commercial, Manufacturing, Automotive, Healthcare, and Education. Operating across such a diverse spectrum of sectors has enabled them to move with – and adapt to – changing market trends, which has resulted in controlled growth for the business.

Sustained growth is aided by the fact that a large proportion of this company’s work is awarded on a repeat-order basis from an extensive and ever-growing base of blue-chip clients.

My client has a turnover of £200 million and currently employs 300 people across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Cambridgeshire. The majority of my client’s work is within Cambridge with 70% of their work coming from this area. However, they have also started expanding into the Oxfordshire region.

About the role:

Due to the company’s success and the amount of new work that is already in the pipeline, there is a need for a Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Quantity Surveyor to run one of their forthcoming larger projects in Cambridge.

This project will be valued between £5 million and £40 million in either the educational, Commercial, Manufacturing, Automotive or Healthcare sectors. The successful candidate will be based on site and visit the office in Bedford when needed.

Your role will include management of the project in its entirety, profit and loss reporting, reporting into the accounts division, full responsibility for all procurement and risk management. You will be responsible for maintaining established profit margins and improving wherever possible the company’s profits.

In addition to the basic salary, there will be benefits including car allowance, pension, health and travel allowance.  As well as long-term career prospects and progression, you will also work closely with the Commercial Manager and Commercial Director who can offer support should you need it.

About the requirements:

The successful candidate needs to have extensive experience in managing a range of projects ideally including residential, commercial and educational, with projects ranging in value from £5m to £40m. The ideal candidate should also have a balance of working on new build and refurbishment projects.

My client is looking for candidates who can show a stability of employment throughout their career keeping each appointment for a minimum of 3 years per employer.
