About the Company:

My Client are the main contracting division of a large construction group who utilise all the company’s in-house resources and facilities to provide clients with a bespoke construction service. This company have gone back to the time when contractors carried out work themselves with a dedicated, reliable workforce and their own fleet of plant and equipment. Our work is carried out in-house for the following disciplines: piling, reinforced structure, pre-cast elements, facades and glazing, M and E, dry-lining, craneage and scaffolding. This gives us direct contact with specialist expertise all under one roof rather than through a remote supply chain of suppliers and sub-contractors who have their own agendas and interests to protect. About the Role:

Our client are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor & a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Residential team to bolster their commercial team with a few new projects on the horizon. This is an office based role with occasional trips down to site. The project is on the go and the current team require additional support from an experienced senior and a project level QS who will be reporting into the Commercial Manager, working closely with the project team. The chosen candidate will need to be able to work on multiple projects and be able to lead and drive the QS process and needs to a demanding schedule. The successful candidate would be expected to control;

  • Management of the Main Contract to ensure compliance with our all contractual obligations
  • Preparation of Main Contract monthly valuation and agreeing with client representative in line with the Main Contract specifics
  • Pricing of variation orders and agreeing same with the client for implementation.
  • Preparation or assist in the preparation of all contractual letters, notices
  • Preparation of budget and Cost Planning and budgetary control.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of Monthly Budget Review.
  • Understanding and taking ownership of the project risks and opportunities.
  • Taking ownership for optimum cost control, cash and contractual management.

The successful candidate must have excellent skills in tendering packages in particular, ensuring that packages are procured fully compliant and closing all avenues for variations.

About the benefits / rewards: The salary will be dependant on level of exposure to industry and experience on related projects. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary around £55,000 – £95,000. The package will also include various benefits relating to travel and healthcare.

Requirements: Candidates must have at least 5 years relevant experience including degree level qualifications relating to quantity surveying. Candidates should be able to demonstrate successful project delivery with the ability to work without support or supervision. Preferred candidates will have direct experience working on residential projects for top tier or large man contractors.
